Nearly a quarter of the people following me have real audiences of their own. 24.7% have more than 1,000 followers each, 5.0% have more than 10,000, and 0.4% have audiences above 100,000. Audience-audit tools treat anything under 5% in that top tier as a low-quality following; mine sits at 24.7%. 29.8% of them describe themselves as designers, which is roughly double the share on comparable creator accounts in this space. 850+ followers name a major technology or design company in their bio — Framer, Webflow, Google, Figma, Meta, IDEO, Microsoft, Shopify, Apple, Adobe, OpenAI, Stripe, Vercel and others. Not a percentage of a vague "tech audience". Alongside them are the company accounts themselves, including Figma, IDEO, Framer and Gumroad, and the people running them: Dylan Field, Sahil Lavingia, Tom Conrad at Sonos, John Maeda at Microsoft, Noah Levin who leads design at Figma, and investors including Georgios Konstantopoulos at Paradigm, Li Jin and Alexia Bonatsos. For a company selling design or developer software, that means the buyers, the practitioners who will champion the tool internally, and the people who fund the category are already in the room before a single post goes out.
